8) of the lower part of the back; timber (the usual word); useless or unwanted articles (lumber)

9) to wound or injure (a person) so that some part of the body is useless (maim)

10) the solid waste matter of animals (to be) used as manure; dirt; filth; to do useless or unnecessary activities (muck)
