Cases of word usage

1) a part of a sentence that is not the subject or predicate (and can be omitted without making the sentence ungrammatical) such as 'with the red hair' in 'The boy with the red hair fell off his bike' (adjunct)

2) a part of a sentence with its own subject and predicate, especially one doing the work of a noun, adjective or adverb (clause)

3) a word, phrase or sentence calling for punishment, injury or destruction (curse)

4) the process of changing the endings of nouns, pronouns, and adjectives according to their use in a sentence (declension)

5) a short sentence or phrase used as a guide or rule of behaviour, as used by a school, club etc or expressed as a personal rule of conduct (motto)

6) a sentence or phrase within another sentence, marked off by commas, dashes or brackets; round brackets () for this (parenthesis)

7) a very small bit; any (usually short) word that is not a verb, subject or object but is a necessary part of a phrase, sentence or verb (particle)

8) a form of a sentence which asks for information, an answer etc; to express or feel doubt about (something) (question)

9) (of) a word or verb form showing that the action of a sentence is on the person or thing doing it (reflexive)
