1) to keep or lead away a person unlawfully, especially by force (abduct)

2) to help or encourage a person in vice, crime (abet)

3) causing a person to be shocked, disgusted (abhorrent)

4) to cause a person to end a pregnancy before the fetus is fully developed (abort)

5) a person who is absent. e.g. who lives away from her or his property (absentee)

6) to release a person (from sin, guilt, a promise, duty etc) (absolve)

7) go up to a person and speak to her or him first, especially a stranger in a public place (accost)

8) a person whose profession is to keep and examine business accounts (accountant)

9) a person who one knows but not as well as a friend (acquaintance)

10) to give a legal decision that a person is not guilty of an offense (acquit)
