Cases of word usage

1) a group of words with a meaning that is not obvious through knowledge of the individual words but must be learnt as a whole, e.g. 'give up, in order to, be all ears' (idiom)

2) all the characteristics that belong to an individual and that distinguish her or him from others (individuality)

3) (Buddhism) the desired state after death in which the individual becomes part of the supreme spirit (God) (nirvana)

4) (plural ova) a cell in female animal, capable of developing into a new individual when fertilized (by male sperm) (ovum)

5) some but not many (three or more); separate; individual (several)
