Cases of word usage

1) a small ball of coloured glass etc with a hole through it for a string or wire (bead)

2) a length of wax with a string (wick) through it, used for giving light (candle)

3) a framework covered with paper or cloth, made to fly in the wind at the end of a long string or wire; a bird of prey of the hawk family (kite)

4) a kind of delicate material with the threads making patterns; a string or cord put through small holes in shoes etc to fasten edges together (lace)

5) a form of prayer used in the RC Church; a string of beads used for counting these prayers (rosary)

7) a metal or plastic point at the end of a shoelace, string etc; a label (showing size, a price, an address etc) fastened to or stuck into something (tag)

8) (to cause something) to become gradually narrower towards one end; a length of string with a covering of wax, burnt to give a light (taper)

9) a tough, thick part like string that joins muscle to bone (tendon)

10) an apparatus made of very strong cloth on a string frame, used by gymnasts for acrobatic leaps (trampoline)
