Cases of word usage

1) (of) an animal without a backbone or spinal column, e.g. insects, worms (invertebrate)

2) a person suffering from paraplegia ( = paralysis of the lower part of the body, including both legs, caused by injury to the spinal cord) (paraplegic)

3) (a person) suffering paralysis of all four limbs, caused by injury to the spinal cord (quadriplegic)
