Cases of word usage

1) to reach a place, especially the end of a journey (arrive)

2) (of efforts, hopes, careers etc) to reach the highest or most serious point (culminate)

6) (of a person, opinions, plans etc) that cannot reach an agreement (irreconcilable)

7) (of plans etc) to fail; (of letters etc) to fail to reach the destination (miscarry)

8) an outer covering of leather etc for the foot, especially one which does not reach above ankle; the part of a brake that presses against the wheel (of a bicycle, car etc) (shoe)

9) faults; failures to reach the necessary standards, to do one's duty (shortcomings)

10) (to cause something) to move round a point; (to cause something) to change in nature, quality, condition, shape etc; to reach and pass (the age, time etc mentioned) (turn)
