Cases of word usage

2) a phrase used often and by many people (usually for a short period) (catchphrase)

3) a word, phrase or sentence calling for punishment, injury or destruction (curse)

4) an adjective or phrase used to describe the character of a person or thing, as in 'Alfred the Great' (epithet)

5) a word, phrase etc used to express surprise, strong feeling etc (exclamation)

6) (an instance of) the process of expressing; a word or phrase (expression)

7) (used after a word or phrase which is going to be explained) that is; which means (i.e.)

8) a metallic ringing sound (as of coils, keys or small bells); a short and simple phrase or poem, especially with a simple tune, that is easily remembered (jingle)

9) (used in compounds) full of strong (e.g. good) intentions; what is understood by a word, phrase etc (meaning)

10) a short sentence or phrase used as a guide or rule of behaviour, as used by a school, club etc or expressed as a personal rule of conduct (motto)
