Cases of word usage

1) to go away from a person, place, etc, not interesting to return (abandon)

2) of a rule, condition etc temporarily not in forced or in use (abeyance)

3) not present (at a place) (absent)

4) a person who one knows but not as well as a friend (acquaintance)

5) to give a legal decision that a person is not guilty of an offense (acquit)

6) an example of the judgment that a person is not guilty (acquittal)

7) satisfactory; sufficient (but not more) (adequate)

8) next (to a person, thing); near (to a person, thing) but not necessarily touching (adjacent)

9) a part of a sentence that is not the subject or predicate (and can be omitted without making the sentence ungrammatical) such as 'with the red hair' in 'The boy with the red hair fell off his bike' (adjunct)

10) (of ships, boats) under control, not tied or anchored (adrift)
