Cases of word usage

1) a map used by sailors, showing the coasts, depth of the sea, position of rocks, lighthouses etc (chart)

2) a unit of measurement (6 feet or 1.8 meters) of the depth of water; to understand fully (fathom)

3) a thin instrument used by doctors etc for learning about the depth and direction of a wound etc (probe)

4) the level of sea halfway between high and low tide, used as the basis for measuring height of land and depth of sea (sea-level)

5) darkness caused by cutting off direct light; a small difference; a degree of depth of colour (shade)
