Cases of word usage

1) Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (a very dangerous disease passed into the blood through sexual intercourse, syringe needles already used by an infected person etc) (AIDS)

2) (of a committee) to add a person as a member by the votes of those who are already members (coopt)

3) to cancel (a command) already given (e.g. by giving another) (countermand)

4) (of speech, writing) already mentioned (foregoing)

5) of give; already agreed; already known or decided (given)

6) the theory or belief that everything about life and the future has already been decided (by God, fate etc) and cannot be changed (predestination)

7) an accusation made as a reply to one already made (recrimination)

8) to treat (a substance already used) so that it can be used again (recycle)

9) not different or changed; (used with 'this', 'that', 'these', 'those') already mentioned, referred to or thought of (same)

10) (used as the subject of a verb) a female person or animal already mentioned; (often used as a prefix) a female: 'a she-goat', 'Is it a he or a she?' (she)
