Cases of word usage

1) a small open-fronted structure used for sale of newspapers, sweets, cigarettes etc; a small place for a public telephone (kiosk)

2) a device for joining two computers using a telephone link (modem)

3) a seed (especially) of a lemon, orange, apple or pear; a short note of a time-signal on the telephone or radio (pip)

4) a person who received, especially who knowingly receives stolen goods; a part of an apparatus for receiving something. E.g. the part of a telephone that receives and produces sound (receiver)

5) an apparatus for operating several telephone connections, e.g. in an office (switchboard)

6) a process of sending writing and pictures to another place using a computer-like telephone system (telefax)

7) (of a telephone number) not in the directory (because a person wants privacy) (unlisted)
