Cases of word usage

1) the soft growth between the back of the nose and the throat, sometimes making breathing difficult (adenoids)

2) tastings sharp (and sometimes unpleasant) (bitter)

3) based on convention (and so sometimes appearing insincere) (conventional)

4) a small bed, sometimes with a curved bottom, for a new-born baby (cradle)

5) now and then; sometimes (occasionally)

6) words, phrases, meanings etc sometimes used in very informal conversation but not suitable for writing or for more formal occasions (slang)

7) having lost natural simplicity through education or because of experience from high social living; having the latest design, methods etc (and sometimes suggesting it is complicated or needs a lot of effort) (sophisticated)
