1) a loose shirt (with smocking on it) like an overall (smock)

2) to fasten (a person, thing) with string, rope etc; (also 'necktie') a band of material worn under the collar of a shirt and knotted in front; a long piece of rope etc used for fastening; something that keeps people united; an equal score in a game etc (tie)

3) a short-sleeved, cotton shirt like a vest, worn informally (t-shirt)
