Cases of word usage

1) the two on playing-cards or dice; (tennis) the score of 40 each after which either side must gain two successive points to win the set (deuce)

2) to make a score equal (equalize)

3) to be forced to bat again immediately after an innings because of a low score (follow-on)

4) to fasten (a person, thing) with string, rope etc; (also 'necktie') a band of material worn under the collar of a shirt and knotted in front; a long piece of rope etc used for fastening; something that keeps people united; an equal score in a game etc (tie)

5) an attempt; effort; (rugby); to test, use or do (something) as an experiment; a score made by putting the ball down behind the opponent's goal (try)
