1) a ditch (used for carrying away water from land) (dike)

2) (in camps etc) a ditch (to be) used as a toilet (latrine)

3) a long, deep ditch filled with water, used round a castle etc as a defence (moat)

4) a deep ditch dug in the ground, e.g. for the draining of water (trench)
