6) to rule (a country, city etc) (govern)

7) an incorrect use of a word that is similar to another one, such as 'a city with many aversions' (for diversions) (malapropism)

8) a head of a city or town council (mayor)

9) a chief city of a country; capital city (which is more usual) (metropolis)

10) of a capital city; a person who lives in a large city (often suggesting that he or she is therefore experienced in the energy and variety of city life) (metropolitan)
