Cases of word usage

1) a movable bridge as placed between a ship and the land (gangplank)

2) an opening in a ship's side; movable bridge from this to the bridge (gangway)

3) an iron or steel beam used to support a floor, bridge etc (girder)

4) a protective wall at the edge of a flat roof, side of a bridge etc (parapet)

5) a structure of wood, iron etc built out into the sea as a landing-stage or for walking on for pleasure; a pillar supporting a bridge etc (pier)

6) to tie or fasten a person, animal, hay etc; a bundle of hay, straw; a framework supporting a roof, bridge etc; a padded belt worn by a person suffering from hernia (truss)

7) a long bridge (usually with many arches) carrying a road, railway or canal across a valley (viaduct)
